Patient-Centered Psychological Evaluations for Children, Adults, and Older Adults

Behind every request for a psychological evaluation is a person looking for understanding. A parent wants to know why their child is struggling. An adult wonders whether attention or developmental differences explain longstanding challenges. A family needs clearer information about a loved one’s memory, functioning, or support needs.

At Comprehensive Psychological Testing, we believe those questions deserve time, attention, and thoughtful answers.

Located in Sterling Heights, Michigan, our practice provides psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adults, and older adults. Led by Dr. Franklin R. Sollars, PhD, LP, we bring a patient-centered approach to understanding each individual’s experiences, strengths, and concerns.

Our purpose is to help people gain meaningful information they can use to make informed decisions about their next steps.

Our Mission: Greater Understanding and More Accessible Evaluations

About us

Comprehensive Psychological Testing was established to serve the community’s need for thorough, individualized assessment and to help address the delays people can face when seeking an evaluation.

When questions about learning, attention, development, mood, or memory remain unanswered, it can be difficult to know how to move forward. Families may be unsure which support to pursue. Adults may continue struggling without a clear explanation. Other professionals may need assessment findings to guide their recommendations.

We believe access to a comprehensive evaluation  should receive the same attention as the quality of the assessment itself. Our mission includes working to reduce unnecessary delays while preserving the care and thoroughness each evaluation requires.

Appointment availability varies by service and individual needs. From the first conversation, our team can explain the scheduling process and help you understand what is needed to get started.

Our Psychological Testing and Evaluation Services

Psychological evaluations explore emotional, behavioral, and psychological functioning. They may help clarify concerns, examine diagnostic questions—including questions about bipolar disorder—and inform recommendations for further support.

Neuropsychological evaluations examine cognitive abilities such as attention, learning, memory, processing speed, and executive functioning. These assessments help describe strengths and challenges in thinking skills and their relationship to everyday demands.

ADHD evaluations explore concerns involving inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, organization, and follow-through. The assessment considers relevant history and functioning across settings.

Autism assessments examine developmental history, social communication, behavioral patterns, sensory experiences, and support needs. We provide evaluations for children, adults, and older adults seeking clarification about autism spectrum disorder.

Let's Talk

The first step toward clarity is a conversation. Let’s discuss your concerns and explore which evaluation may be right for you or your loved one.

Supporting Individuals and Families Across the Lifespan

Children and Their Caregivers

Parents often seek an evaluation because they want to understand how to help. We make room for caregiver observations, developmental history, and relevant information from school or other professionals.

Our goal is to provide information that helps families better understand their child’s strengths, challenges, and possible support needs.

Adults Seeking Answers

Some adults come to us with a recent concern. Others have spent years wondering why particular aspects of daily life require so much effort.

We provide space to explore those experiences and consider questions involving attention, development, mood, behavior, and cognitive functioning.

Older Adults and Their Families

Older adults may seek assessment for current concerns or longstanding questions that were never previously explored.

We approach these evaluations with respect for the individual’s history, preferences, and independence. Appropriate input from family members or other authorized supports may help provide context.

In-Person and Hybrid Evaluations in Sterling Heights

We offer in-person and hybrid evaluation formats based on assessment requirements and individual circumstances.

A hybrid format combines remote and in-person portions when appropriate. Some testing activities require attendance at our Sterling Heights clinic.

Before scheduling, our team can explain the recommended format, the information needed, and what to expect. We encourage you to share communication preferences, sensory concerns, or accessibility needs so these can be discussed in advance.

Helping You Understand the Process

Getting started should not require you to already understand psychological testing.

When you contact Comprehensive Psychological Testing, we can discuss:

  • The concerns you want an evaluation to address.
  • Which service may be appropriate.
  • Current appointment availability.
  • In-person and hybrid options.
  • Relevant records or referral information.
  • Fees, insurance questions, and authorization requirements.
  • The anticipated assessment and feedback process.

If an evaluation is being requested by a school, attorney, agency, or another professional, let us know at the beginning. Understanding the purpose helps us determine whether our services match the request.

Comprehensive Psychological Testing provides evaluation services and does not provide medical services or prescribe medication.
